Vacancies and work experience
Thank you for your interest in working at Dales Countryside Museum.
Dales Countryside Museum is owned, maintained and run by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA), and as such, all Museum staff are employed by the National Park Authority.
When vacancies arise, they are advertised on the National Park Authority's website at www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/jobs. There is also an RSS feed that you can subscribe to so that you can be notified as soon as a vacancy is added to the website. The RSS feed can be accessed at www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/jobs.rss.
The National Park Authority provides a variety of work experience placements for year 10-11 and post-16 students from schools and colleges with a catchment in the National Park. It may be possible for such placements to be at Dales Countryside Museum.
Placements are usually for one or two weeks only. Unfortunately we are unable to provide school students with long-term, one or two day per week vocational placements.
Please note that enquiries and requests for placements can only be accepted from the staff who have responsibility for work experience at the schools and colleges with which we work. If you are a student or parent interested in organising a work experience placement at the Museum, please talk to the appropriate member of staff at your school or college.
For more details, please see www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/work-experience.
No vacancies or work experience available?
If you really want to work with Dales Countryside Museum but there aren't any vacancies or work experience placements available, you might be interested in getting involved by volunteering at the Museum. See the Volunteer page for more details.
