The Friends play an active role in supporting the Dales Countryside Museum.

The Friends of the Dales Countryside Museum is a fully registered charitable trust. The Friends play a crucial role in providing financial support for acquisition purchases and match funding for projects.

You can join the friends for £10 a year.

Your membership entitles you to:
  • Free entrance to the Museum
  • Free copy of ‘Now Then’ the FDCM annual publication
  • Free entry to Friends Lectures.

What the Friends do for the Museum:

Raising funds by applying for grants and providing match funding. Projects they have supported includes:

  • Purchase of the Viking ring from Sedbergh
  • Treasured Possessions community project
  • Outdoor trail development
  • Hidden History project
  • Events funding
  • Contemporary art commissioning
How to become a Friend of the Museum:

Anyone can become a member of the Friends.  Call into the museum and ask about becoming a Friend.
