Ramps, Lifts and Seating
A ramp from the reception area goes down to the lift to give wheelchair access to the exhibition hall.
There is a ramp with access through the mock lead mine on the ground floor
There are ramps outside leading to our railway carriages displays and to our outdoor trail, platform area and picnic area.
We have 2 lifts in the museum. You can get a lift to all 3 floors.
One lift is located on the lower floor – which you get to using the ramp from the reception area. This will take you to the Exhibition Hall and meeting room level.
The other lift is located in the Goods Shed area of the museum. It has 3 levels – lower ground for access to minerals and mining, ground for Tinsmith and Doctors surgery and first floor for farming and textiles.
Throughout the museum we have portable stools for you to sit on too.
