UPPER EDEN’S BAYEUX TAPESTRY ARRIVES AT THE DALES COUNTRYSIDE MUSEUM

Upper Eden needlewomen have been stitching together a kind of Bayeaux Tapestry of railway history consisting of 20 panels of local railway history with a focus on the Stainmore Line and the Eden Valley Railway.

Sue Bradley, one of the quilters, added, “It has been so exciting to take part and to see how inventive we are: incorporating beads, buttons, fleece, knitting and cross-stitch, even making the Belah Viaduct in crochet.
